It's finally September, nearly second harvest, or Mabon, or Autumn equinox if you prefer. This is my most favorite time of year, with winter coming in a close second. It isn't that I don't appreciate the sun (however, I do hate the heat!) on the contrary. I love to grow food, and herbs, and medicinal flowers and plants. I love the strong smell of chamomile and yarrow on the morning breeze, the feel of the sun's warmth on my back, and the long days can be quite pleasant. But it's the darker hours that feed my creativity. Perhaps it's also the shorter days that get my ass moving! For me, the darkness calms me down and energizes me at the same time. Darkness holds so much more possibility than the light of day, free of deep, deceptive shadows.
So please, have a safe, productive Labor Day weekend and September, and Happy Reading!
